PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a real Box Office number.
A poster for a concert featuring the work of Oscar Hammerstein II. Show Boat in Concert is the first half and I was asked to emphasise that part as it is so rarely performed. See full version
The performing company is ShowCo Bedford.
Invariably, I used a photograph of the Branson Belle showboat as it's the only one that looks like a vintage showboat and actually goes out on the water (and it's the only one that I could get a high enough quality image of!)
I'm rather pleased with the colours of this one.
Comments welcomed!
The Poster-a-Week project
My aim for this year is to produce a poster every week for a musical, play, movie or book. Sometimes, they're just for fun. Sometimes, they'll be used in a real production in the Beds-Herts-Bucks region of England.

Week 2 - Titanic the Musical
Titanic The Musical - it's the 100th Anniversary this year. This is a modified version of a poster for a real production. It's my second production of this show. The first production artwork can be seen online

Close to my heart, I once played designer Thomas Andrews in the musical - most amazing experience onstage.
The Titanic ship image itself was actually a daylight side view that I then darkened for night time and then painstakingly added the glowing cabin and funnel lights (which was... fun).
Thanks to all those mentioned below, especially for the splashes which were great fun to use and also to Lady Victoire, who was, as always, my first call for stars!
Used the following:
Star brushes by Lady Victoire (http://ladyvictoire.deviantart.com/)
Splash brushes from http://coolestnoudj.deviantart.com/art/CoolestnoudJ-s-Splash-Brushes-170280817

Week 1 - Alice by Heart
Welcome, one and all. My first poster, which is for a real production (names and places have been changed).
A poster for a new musical, called Alice By Heart from the writers of Spring Awakening. It is based on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and set in WWII in a London Underground shelter. The recurring theme is of time running out and the implicit danger of being underground during The Blitz.
I really am very proud to be asked to do this one.
The full version is at DeviantArt
Inspired by Abram Games' 1940s London Underground poster
